Yiull has incorporated his own rusting method in his recent artwork, using iron and copper filings mixed with acrylic medium and treated with different acids to achieve a rusting effect on canvas and other surfaces.

This process adds to the social commentary present in his work, as the visually attractive rust works are actually composed of decaying minerals upon closer examination. Yiull is utilizing this technique in his current collection to comment on the underlying decay of bureaucratic systems worldwide.
